February Status
Dan Kagey just provided us with an update. Here is what he has to say since his January update…
Since January, we have received bank approval and we are moving forward with a contract with Plano Coudon, our new contractor. Construction start is only being held up by a formality line of credit paper from the bank and a “grading” permit from the county. We could start moving dirt in February or early March. We are seeking to employ a part time program manager to be our advocate throughout this phase of building. Please see our web site if you are a qualified applicant.Other related news, the Phase I punch list has only a few remaining items. Temporary trailers have been located on site to provide space for clergy and admin offices until permanent offices can be constructed. We are planning the permanent signs on MD103 to show the world our new home, and expect to erect the old Glen Mar signs temporarily at our driveway entrance. A permanent sign will replace those toward Phase II completion.
What about the road? Well, after many months, the telephone pole holding progress has been removed. Oak has the go ahead to complete the road. Now it’s only the weather that is holding us up. So early spring should be the absolute latest for that completion and old New Cut will become “right in and right out” only, and renamed Bauger Farm Road. That will at least open the door for a state re-evaluation of our intersection for a traffic light.

To Al, Dan and everybody…this is great news. I am especially pleased that you recognized that Al can’t do everything and that a focused PM is required. Great idea. I look forward to seeing a shell up when I return in June.
YEA!!!
